Orthodoxy101 is the catechetical program of Holy Spirit Orthodox Church, Huntington, West Virginia. This policy explains how the Orthodoxy101 mobile app ("the app") handles your information. The app exists to serve the program — sharing class schedules, announcements, and teaching materials, and helping our community stay in touch. We collect only what is needed for that, and nothing more.

We do not sell your information. We do not show advertising. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

The platform we use:

The app is built and hosted on the Wix platform, operated by Wix.com Ltd. Wix processes data on our behalf to make the app work (hosting, accounts, notifications, and basic usage analytics). Wix's own privacy practices are described in the Wix Privacy Policy at https://www.wix.com/about/privacy.
 

Information we collect:

Information you give us. If you create an account in the app, we collect your name and email address (and phone number, if you choose to provide it). If you post in chat or community areas, submit a form, or send us a message through the app, we receive what you write.

Information collected automatically. Like most apps, the Wix platform automatically collects certain technical information when you use the app: device type and identifiers, IP address, app activity, and diagnostic data. If you turn on push notifications, a notification token for your device is used to deliver them (via Apple or Google's notification services).
 

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, health data, or financial information.
 

How we use it

• To operate the app: accounts, schedules, announcements, class materials, and messages.

• To communicate with you about the program.

• To send push notifications, if you have turned them on.

• To keep the app secure and working properly.
   

How we share it

We share information only as needed to run the app:

• Wix.com Ltd., our app platform provider, which hosts the app and its data.

• Apple and Google, to deliver push notifications on their devices.

• Program staff and clergy of Holy Spirit Orthodox Church, for the ordinary work of the program.

• When required by law, if we must respond to a valid legal request.

We never sell personal information, and we never share it for advertising.
 

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Children in our community use the app under the guidance of their parents. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and deleting your data

• Push notifications can be turned off at any time in your device settings.

• Account deletion: you can delete your account and its associated data from within the app (in your profile/account settings), or by contacting us at the address below. We will complete deletion requests within a reasonable time.

• Access and correction: you may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, or to correct it.
   

Retention and security

We keep account information while your account is active and delete it when you ask or when it is no longer needed for the program. Data is stored on Wix's secure infrastructure, transmitted with encryption, and accessible only to program staff who need it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
